About Me

My Story
Hi, I’m Britt—Registered Holistic Nutritionist & Functional Nutrition Practitioner, friendly neighbourhood plant nerd, and advocate for natural living. For over 20 years, I've been exploring the world of natural and alternative health, and it's been quite a journey! Although my path has not always been straightforward, I've learned so much along the way, and I have come to believe deeply in one guiding truth: Nature is our best teacher and greatest healer.
Like many others, my journey into the world of holistic health began from a place of struggle. Throughout my teen and early adult years, I experienced chronic and debilitating bladder and kidney infections that no one could seem to figure out. I saw countless doctors and specialists, underwent every diagnostic test under the sun, and was prescribed antibiotics over and over again... But I was ultimately left without any answers or any lasting relief.
It wasn't until I started exploring alternative strategies—nutrition, herbal medicine, acupuncture, and yoga—that I began to experience a real shift in my health. This marked a turning point in my journey, and opened the door to a deeper exploration of alternative healing. I became passionate about learning how to naturally restore balance in the body.
Education & Experience
As I began to recognize the profound connection between diet, lifestyle, and health, I decided to pursue formal education in Holistic Nutrition. In 2012, I earned a Natural Nutrition Diploma with Certificate of Merit from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. I also completed Yoga Teacher Training at the renowned Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, which allowed me to deepen my understanding of the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health.
My journey into food and nutrition led me to explore Permaculture and Environmental Studies, especially after learning about the harmful impacts of modern industrial agriculture. I received a Permaculture Design Certificate from Linnaea Farm & The University of Victoria, where I also completed a BSc. Environmental Studies and Restoration of Natural Systems Diploma. These studies reinforced my belief that the health of our bodies is deeply intertwined with the health of the natural environment. Our well-being and resilience depend on the air we breathe, the water we drink, the foods we eat, and our interactions with nature.
Although I originally intended to pursue a career in Ecological Restoration, my path took an unexpected turn when my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. In an effort to support his healing journey, I returned to my roots in natural nutrition and holistic health. I challenged my dad to attempt a radical detoxification protocol, and watched his symptoms of cancer slowly subside. It was during this process that I realized my true calling: To help others struggling with chronic symptoms reclaim their health—naturally.
My Approach
My approach to health and biology is terrain-based, rooted in the understanding that illness arises not from pathogens, but from an imbalanced internal environment or "terrain"—the body’s ecosystem. This perspective emphasizes the role of nutrient deficiencies, toxicity, emotional stress, circadian disruption, and disconnection from nature in the onset of disease, and holds that healing is achieved by restoring balance, coherence, and alignment.
At the core of my practice is real-food nutrition, because I believe nutrition is the foundation of health. Nervous system regulation is another top priority, given that the body is unable to shift into healing or repair when dysregulated or in a state of chronic stress. I also place a strong emphasis on natural living—living in harmony with the Earth, connected to the rhythms and cycles of nature, and making conscious choices to use natural, organic, and toxin-free products. When we live in alignment with nature, we tap into an infinite source of vitality and well-being that's always available.
Lately I've been especially interested in exploring and addressing the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of dis-ease. I've had several profound experiences and witnessed almost instantaneous shifts in long-standing health issues through emotional clearing. These experiences have sparked my curiosity about the potential for deep healing through practices like mindfulness, breathwork, somatic therapy, and emotional freedom technique (EFT).
I'm thrilled to support my clients in exploring these powerful strategies for natural well-being. Through one-on-one consultations, I offer personalized guidance on real-food nutrition, natural and herbal remedies, and holistic lifestyle practices. I provide practical strategies for nutrient-dense eating, nervous system regulation, emotional well-being, and living in greater harmony with nature. My approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and focused on supporting your body's innate ability to heal itself, drawing on both modern science and the wisdom of traditional practices. I believe that nature provides everything we need for vitality and resilience, and it is my mission to help you reconnect with your natural state of balance and well-being.
